UGC Norms on Prevention of Sexual Harassment

As per the University Grants Commission (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015, every higher education institution is mandated to:

  • Prohibit sexual harassment on campus.
  • Constitute an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).
  • Provide a safe and non-hostile work and study environment.
  • Ensure awareness and sensitization among students and staff.

College Policy on Sexual Harassment

A.P.S. Degree College strictly adheres to UGC and Government norms to prevent and address sexual harassment. The college ensures:

  • Immediate and confidential redressal of complaints.
  • Strict disciplinary action against offenders.
  • Awareness programs for students and faculty.
  • Complete confidentiality and non-retaliation policy for complainants.

How to Lodge a Complaint?

Any student, staff, or faculty who experiences sexual harassment may lodge a written complaint to the Commitee within 3 months of the incident. Complaints can be submitted in person at the college office or via email.

Your Rights as a Complainant

  • Right to confidentiality during the process.
  • Right to a fair and impartial inquiry.
  • Right to be free from retaliation.
  • Right to appeal the decision, if unsatisfied.

Time-bound Process

  • Complaint filing: Within 3 months of the incident.
  • Initial review: Within 7 working days.
  • Investigation completion: Within 90 days.
  • Action taken report: Within 60 days of completion.
